The workplace trends shaping 2026

Organizations are asking more of managers and employees than ever before. As priorities multiply and work continues to evolve, workplace complexity is reshaping how people lead, collaborate, and get work done. Our research identified four trends leaders should be watching in 2026.

  • 56% rated manager coaching and feedback capability 5/10 or lower. Managers are expected to coach, develop talent, lead change, and keep teams aligned. As responsibilities grow, manager effectiveness becomes harder to sustain.
  • 41% said protecting focus is their biggest productivity challenge. Interruptions, competing priorities, and reactive work are making sustained focus harder to maintain.
  • 48% said workplace conflict is rooted in trust and capability concerns. Many collaboration challenges begin with unclear expectations, inconsistent follow-through, or uncertainty about ownership.
  • 58% said AI adoption feels improvised rather than intentional. Organizations are adopting AI quickly while still building the habits, workflows, and governance needed to support it.
